Our Methodology

How Deaveris grows real SAT mastery, not just a number.

Most SAT prep treats every student the same: same questions, same pacing, same one-shot diagnostic. Deaveris treats every student as a moving target. Adaptive testing finds your real level, mastery gating decides when you are ready to advance, and spaced review keeps what you have learned from slipping. The result is durable knowledge that holds up on test day.

Four pillars of an adaptive, mastery-first SAT prep platform.

Adaptive testing, every question

Each item is selected from a calibrated bank using Item Response Theory. A correct answer raises the difficulty target, a miss lowers it, and the engine converges on your true SAT skill level in fewer questions than a fixed-form test.

Level-based, mastery-first progression

You start at a level the diagnostic places you in and only advance after demonstrating 90% overall accuracy and 80% per domain. No skipping ahead to be impressive. No grinding past what you already know.

Skill pinpointing across 29+ SAT skills

Every Math and Reading & Writing skill on the Digital SAT is tracked individually. Practice sessions target the next skill that is ready to unlock, so study minutes compound instead of scatter.

Spaced review that prevents forgetting

Skills you have already mastered resurface on a forgetting curve. The system shows you a familiar skill again right before you would have lost it, keeping knowledge durable through test day.

Research foundations

Built on decades of learning-science research.

The methodology is not a gut call. Each piece traces back to a body of research in education and cognitive science.

Bloom's Mastery Learning

Bloom showed that students who must reach mastery on a unit before moving on outperform those who progress on a fixed schedule. Our level gates are a direct application: you advance on demonstrated accuracy, not calendar time.

Vygotsky's Zone of Proximal Development

Learning is fastest when challenge sits just beyond current ability. Adaptive question selection deliberately keeps you in that zone instead of either bored or overwhelmed.

Spaced and interleaved practice

Decades of cognitive-science research show spaced review beats massed practice for retention, and interleaving related skills improves transfer. Both are baked into the review queue.
